Steps to get a weed card online

If you’re interested in getting your own California medical marijuana card, here are the steps you’ll need to take.

Get your physician’s recommendation for medical marijuana use.
Fill out the application for an ID card on the State of California Department of Public Health website and print it out, or download it as a PDF file.
The fee is $66.00 for patients under 18 years old; $33.00 for seniors over 65 years old; and $33.00 for disabled persons with verified status from the Social Security Administration.
Read the instructions carefully before completing the application form, then fill it out by hand with a blue ballpoint pen only, using black ink where appropriate—black ink will not scan properly through fax machines.

Consult with a Physician

If you are a California resident, you must first consult with your physician about the medical use of marijuana. You will need to provide your physician with documentation that shows that you have one or more of the qualifying medical conditions specified in the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act, which is found at 225 ILCS 490/1 et seq. You will also need to provide a copy of your driver’s license or other identification card showing your date of birth.

In addition, the doctor’s statement must indicate whether he or she has been providing care for you as your primary care provider within the past year. A statement from your current primary care provider (doctor) will not be accepted if it does not state that he or she has been providing care for you as your primary care provider within the last 12 months. This statement should be on letterhead with his or her name and address, phone number, professional license number, and signature.

Get Approved and Complete the State Application Online

You can complete the application by clicking on Apply Online on the homepage of the online medical card website. If you have an email address, you’ll receive your unique PIN number via email as confirmation.

The application will ask for your name, residential address, date of birth, social security number or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), email address, gender, country, or jurisdiction where you were born if you’re not a U.S. citizen, and whether you’ve ever been diagnosed with a physical/mental condition or illness that would prevent you from safely operating a vehicle. Once completed, print out the application form, sign it and mail it in with payment so they can process your request.

After you have applied for your medical cannabis card, it can take anywhere between 2-3 weeks before you receive it in the mail. Visit the Dispensary

Now that you have your medical marijuana card, it is time for you to go out and visit the dispensary. The first thing you will want to do is check their menu in order to see what they offer. Once you have found something that interests you, it’s time to make your purchase! You may notice that there are different strains of marijuana (Sativa, Indica, etc) as well as different types of edibles, concentrates, paraphernalia, and other accessories.
